The first bank building was a small woodframe building in a new community called Hinton.
The bank's founder was an enterprising young man from Kansas named Harrison Miller.
In 1908 the bank reopened on the same corner, which is still home to the Hinton office of Legacy Bank.
On January 11th, 1923, the bank was robbed of $11,282 by three bandits.
Mr. Miller led the bank through wars, winds, droughts, and depression.
In 1954 Mr. Miller decided to sell the bank to Robert S. Carmack of Gould, OK. In 1975 Stephen Carmack returned home to join his father in banking and continues to serve as the third CEO of the bank.
Mr. Carmack led the bank for nearly 40 years with a vision of growth & commitment to community.
In 1993 the bank changed its name to Legacy to honor the lives of Mr. Carmack and his wife, Oleta.
In 2002 Legacy Bank celebrated a century in business.
Moving into the future, Legacy pledges to become Oklahoma's best bank.
